The position of Balai Bomba Cheng right beside the main trunk road of Lebuh AMJ, makes the building very hard to miss. The catchy aluminium composite cladding in red colour breaks the simplicity of the building overall cubic forms.

The layout is purely functional and is in compliance with the green building technology especially in terms of the passive design to reduce power consumption. The building can easily be naturally lighted and ventilated as it is designed with large openings.

At the time it was completed, it was recognised by BOMBA as one of the most modern and efficiently designed fire station in Melaka. It has also become a reference for the future fire stations in its category.
